So I set a goal for myself in 2018 to finish 12 yarn projects. If you head over to Ravelry you can see the projects I finished. I accomplished the 12 projects and was able to knit 6 of them and crochet the other 6. So, I’ve set the goal for 2019 to complete 13 projects. I’ve already signed up for a KAL (knit along) at my favorite local yarn store, Knit Happenz to make the building blocks blanket. We did this same one a few years ago but since I wasn’t knitting at that time, I ended up crocheting comparable squares for the blanket. My mother got that one for Christmas that year.
So I’ll be using Cascade Vintage yarn to make my version. Also in an attempt to be better about getting my craft projects done I’ve joined one of my favorite podcaster’s (Down Cellar Studio Podcast aka Boston Jen) in doing the Slay the Stash for 2019. Each month you declare a skein of yarn and what project you’re going to make with it on the first few days of the month and you’ll post the finished project by the end of the month. If you complete it you get entered in a drawing, which is fun but I think what is more fun will be to see what everyone makes each month. My project for January is some yarn I “won” at Purl in the Plaza held at the Hoover library. I don’t really like the yarn too much myself so I’m making a prayer shawl out of it to donate to my church. I’m sure someone will like these colors, they just aren’t my cup of tea.
I will post a picture of all the finished projects and they are all on my Ravelry projects page as well. My other goals for 2019 are to update the website more as well as organize my yarn stash and document it. Fortunately Ravelry has a way to do that so it was a great way to get my hands on all the yarn I have as well as organize it so I know what’s there.
